Dear Family & Partners,

I hope you are all well. The Carter family, I am glad to say is doing great. Dad comes home tonight form one of his longer trips. He was attending the European Evangelical Alliance & Hope for Europe meetings in Portugal, and going on a prayer journey to Spain, Gibraltar, and Morocco. Warren was very encouraged by the plans made for two up-coming evangelistic conferences. Tonight we will head to the airport together, even though Warren’s arrival is a bit for the boys, they’ll go in their pj’s and probably greet Dad with snores from the back seat of the car.

Next week, Warren has meetings in Zürich to help equip evangelists in reaching young people. The day after his return, the whole family travels to Czech Republic together, where we will meet a group Warren has been teaching and mentoring on a monthly basis. We are looking forward to seeing part of his world that is new to us. I helped Warren with some of his session preparation and will assist him with part of the teaching. The hosts have two children, so the boys will hopefully enjoy a change of scenery … and not do any swimming in their lovely fish pond.

My most recent group for “Befreit Leben” (Freed Life) ended yesterday. It was an Austrian holiday, so the ladies left husbands and children at home, and spent the day here in our home learning, praying, and sharing our hearts. One dear friend in our leadership team, Regina, did the morning teaching on ‘Disappointment’. In the afternoon we finished off the 12th session by giving words of encouragement to and praying for one another. The ladies kept saying they would need a tractor-trailer truck to carry home all the blessings and encouragement they had received.

Many of the women told me how much they appreciated my open, direct, and cheerful way. One Austrian friend told me “I don’t know why Leanne, but Austrians really like you!!” I believe God made me the way I am and brought me to Austria for His purposes – I was born in Canada but made for Austria.

The DtN board asked us if there were any major financial issues looming in the future. We know of only one: at some point in the next couple of months, we will need to replace our reliable Nissan sedan. An OM mechanic friend let us know that the repairs necessary to make this 10-year old road-worthy and to pass its next inspection will cost many times what the car is worth. The odometer just turned over 215,000 – which is pretty good for a 4-cylinder gasoline engine, and we are thankful to the Lord for its usefulness – but it’s come to an end :-o So anything you might do to help us with this would be appreciated!

I am back to teaching English, with two groups at home plus one in Jonathan’s school. It is a blessing in many ways, helps bring more of Tribuswinkel into our home, and is rather fun watching David learn to speak! Jonathan was giving me a whole list of ideas (at my request) to spruce up my class. He told me two things would improve it: if I was a boy because they are more fun (tough luck on that one) and more games (which I will do something about).

David is doing great in kindergarten. Now more and more German is coming out of him. He loves his teachers “lonka and Pater” (Milanka and Petra), and looks totally adorable walking to class with his little green backpack.

We love you and thank God for your love and care for us … and pray that you will celebrate Christmas with zeal and passion, and find real rest in Him during the holiday season.
